In this session we were shown the basic skills on how to use the cameras most effectively and safely. The basic skills we were shown were things such as:
- how to put the tripod up and how to collapse it.
- how to view footage we have shot on the camera
- how to open and close the camera shutter
- how to fix the camera onto the tripod
- how to put the memory card and battery in the camera
We also did a small exercise which taught us how to focus and listened to a short speech on the do's and dont's when filming such as
- filming in the dark is not recommended because the picture quality isn't good
- dialogue is also not recommended because the equipment isn't good enough quality for good quality sound
