Skills Audit:Sound

The music was the hardest part of production in making of our Thriller opening. After experimenting with various sounds our final choice for music is very menacing and mysterious.
The music gets louder, quieter and changes at various parts of the opening to build tension and suspense in the audience. The first sequence has a acoustic melody which has a menacing tone to it. On top of this we put a ticking noise which helps builds suspense.

In the next sequence of we used tense music, the ticking sound but this time we increased the volume. We used this music up until Sarah drinks from the glass. At this point we reduced the volume of the tense music and the only sound that remained was the ticking sound which increases the significance of the shot. Following this the music increase and finally the music cuts and the title appears with a loud drum noise and finally we added the recorded voicemail.
